CAMERON, Texas — The Cameron Economic Development Corporation is inviting Cameron-area residents and businesses to complete a broadband needs survey to help determine whether available internet services meet the community’s needs.
The survey will be open from November 2nd through December 2nd, 2026, at Cameron Internet Service and Broadband Needs Survey – Fill out form.
Conducted as part of the CEDC’s FY2026–2027 Project Plan, the survey asks about internet availability, cost, reliability, and performance. It also explores whether service supports everyday activities such as working, completing school assignments, participating in video calls, accessing online services, and streaming entertainment.
Business questions address needs such as payment processing, online sales, cloud software, and other operations that depend on an internet connection.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to participate whether their service works well, needs improvement, or is unavailable at their location. Responses from people who rely on cellular data, mobile hotspots, or shared connections are also important.
Please complete one survey for each household or business location. Individuals reporting on a home and a separate business location may complete a survey for each.
After the survey closes, findings will be presented to CEDC, the Cameron Industrial Foundation, and the Cameron City Council. Summarized results will also be shared with internet service providers to seek input on possible improvements. A public summary is planned for the CIF website.
The survey will help inform local priorities and conversations with providers. Participation does not guarantee a particular service improvement.
To request a paper survey or assistance completing the survey, contact 254-697-4970 or gwatkins@cameronindustrialfoundation.com. Paper surveys will also be available at the Cameron Public Library.
