Cameron Invites Central Texas to Celebrate America 250 on July 4th

Historic Downtown Cameron to Host Community-Wide Patriotic Celebration Featuring Live Music, Family Activities, Food, and Fireworks

The Cameron Industrial Foundation (CIF) and Cameron Economic Development Corporation invite residents and visitors from across Central Texas to celebrate America's 250th birthday during the America 250 Celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Historic Downtown Cameron.

The free community celebration will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Downtown Cameron and will feature live music, local vendors, family-friendly games and activities, complimentary hot dogs, snow cones and water, and a spectacular fireworks display to conclude the evening.

The America 250 Celebration is being organized by Melanie Romine, Edward Jones Financial Advisor, whose vision and leadership have been instrumental in bringing this special community event to life. Romine, together with her co-sponsor Carley Shuffield, also serves as the event's Platinum Sponsor, helping ensure the celebration remains free and accessible to families throughout the region.

"We wanted to create an event that brings our community together while celebrating a truly historic milestone for our nation," said Melanie Romine, Edward Jones Financial Advisor and organizer of the America 250 Celebration. "The Fourth of July has always been a special time for families, friends, and neighbors to gather, and we hope this celebration creates lasting memories while showcasing the pride, patriotism, and community spirit that make Cameron such a wonderful place to call home."

"America's 250th birthday is a once-in-a-generation milestone, and Melanie's commitment to our community has helped create an event worthy of that occasion," said Ginger Watkins, Executive Director of the Cameron Industrial Foundation. "This celebration reflects the pride we have in our country, our community, and the people who make Cameron such a special place to live, work, and raise a family."

The event will feature:

  • Live music throughout the evening

  • Local vendors and community exhibitors

  • Games and activities for children

  • Complimentary hot dogs while supplies last

  • Free snow cones and bottled water
