Representative Flores Visits Butler Weldments in Cameron, Texas

Cameron, TX — On Monday, December 2, Representative Bill Flores (TX-17) visited Butler Weldments while in Cameron, TX, to see firsthand the skilled jobs and business that the production of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers brings to the region. Established in 1977, Butler Weldments is a major supplier of fabricated and machined metal products for the aircraft carrier program.

During his tour, Rep. Flores met with the employees at the facility to discuss the unique skills they contribute to the industrial base that supplies parts to the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier program. Butler Weldments is one of 27 aircraft carrier supply-chain companies in Texas, generating $15.6 million economic activity, and contributing 98 jobs to the region.

“It was a great experience to once again visit with the committed team at Butler Weldments, in Cameron. During our visit, I was able to learn more about the integral components they manufacture for our Navy’s submarines and aircraft carriers. They are doing critical work to strengthen our national security and to ensure that the U.S. Navy maintains its global prominence and power projection for international security. Our nation’s manufacturing industry is essential to spurring economic growth and to creating jobs for hardworking American families. It is fulfilling to represent the Texas employees of many great companies, like Butler Weldments, in Congress,” stated Rep. Flores.
