Livestock Nutrition Center to Open Feed Blending Plant in Cameron

Cameron Economic Development and the City of Cameron are pleased to announce that Livestock Nutrition Center will undertake to construct a feed blending plant in the Cameron Industrial Park.

The project which was initially scoped as a feed distribution facility, will include a custom bulk feed blending plant with rail service.  The blending plant was contingent upon the ability of the railroad to provide additional service to the Cameron Industrial Park.  Considerable engineering work was required to design the custom rail needed for the blending plant.

Construction on the rail to serve the blending plant will begin as soon as possible, along with construction of other aspects of the plant and distribution facilities.  If all goes according to plan, Livestock Nutrition Center would hope to open the blending facility in the next 6 to 12 months.

“Cameron is a great fit for our business model, and we are very appreciative of all of the work that has been put into making this location an opportunity for Livestock Nutrition Center.  We look forward to becoming part of the Cameron community,” said Lee Kleman, Director of Operations and Business Development for LNC.

The company is already hiring for the feed distribution facility, which is currently serving the marketplace from portable agricultural storage bins installed at the Industrial Park.

Robert Schiller President of the Cameron Economic Development Corporation said, “This project is significant for Cameron.  It is a perfect fit for the agricultural industry in the region and brings new capital investment and new jobs to Cameron.”  Livestock Nutrition Center is expected to invest $4 million in the rail, distribution and feed blending plant.  “This is a significant investment for Cameron and a great addition to the tax base.” said Mayor Connie Anderle.

“It has been a pleasure to work with the Livestock Nutrition Center team. They are a dedicated and professional group who by the nature of their business just seem to fit in Cameron.”   Said, Ginger Watkins, Cameron Economic Development.

Livestock Nutrition Center specializes in blending customized rations, supplements and premixes to meet the specific nutritional needs of an operation. They understand that management, performance objectives and feeding practices can be vastly different between operations, and that these differences dictate specific nutritional or formulation requirements. Their experienced sales staff and nutritionist will work with a producer to design a feeding program that is specific to the producers operation.
