The U.S. Census 2010 Demographic Profile of General Population and Housing Characteristics records the total housing units in Cameron as 2,360. Of the 2,360 housing units, 1,217 or 59.2% were owner occupied, 840 or 40.8% were renter occupied; of the total stock 303 or 12.8% were vacant; and 771 or 58.5% were mortgaged.
